˗ˏˋ suspirliam ˊˎ˗Dec 16, 2020I keep seeing the word "tender" slapped on every review for this and I....okay, yeah, I get it now. In a year full of beautiful film scores, this absolutely takes the cake. Both that and the cinematography feel SO dreamy. They simultaneously capture the hazy perspective of…
KarstenDec 14, 2020Ugh, couldn't stop crying through the entire second half of this. For reasons I don't really understand, I don't remember most of my childhood and can't recall much about it without having something to remind me of my own experiences. It's always a very weird sensation…

It tells a true story with great acting especially kids without any pornographic clips, a beautiful movie. 7,8/10
ppl overated this movie sm it’s not as sad as they said but i can see the beauty of it but not worth the hype

It’s boring, doesn’t really get you feeling anything and quite slow. Not worth the hype
A really solid film portraying a Korean family trying to succeed in the Deep South. The struggles avoid the standard socio-political tropes one would expect and instead shifts to difficulties with resources and connections. Highly relatable story about family and life.

This film displays relatable and authentic dynamics within Asian diaspora and slightly updates it. Every family member has great depth with the father and grandma being standouts. The little twists and ending breaks your heart in a meaningful way though it didn’t push me to tears
Tear Rating: Actual Snot Nosed Sob Fest Overall: 8.5/10 This movie absolutely wrecked me but in the best of ways. It’s one of those movies that feels so real and relatable that you can’t help but feel everything the characters feel. It was a beautiful, tragic, and emotional ride
This is beautiful and incredibly nuanced. As a second-gen Korean American myself, I truly felt like I was watching my own childhood played back to me in a video format. The tears I shed for Monica and Jacob are tears I shed for my mom and dad. I could go on and on about Minari.

Minari is a movie about a family from South Korea trying to fulfill the American Dream. The story is not as original as I would have liked, but the cast makes the movie. The actors portray stress, love, hate, and suffering incredibly well from the little kids to the old…
ZCZach CaronnaAn updated spin on the “family setting out for American Dream” film. Spans the emotional spectrum.
DLDavid LewisA wholly humanistic story with all the emaotions plus wonderfully natural comedic moments. Young Alan Kim was fantastic!
