Synopsis
Set to the all-new sonic backdrop of Awesome Mixtape #2, Marvel Studios’ “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” continues the team’s adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mystery of Peter Quill’s true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes’ aid as the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to expand.

Clay Werner lovedGuardians of the Galaxy Vol. 28.8 - it has a few issues, but I think what it comes down to, to make this still one of the A tier MCU entries, is that it is unabashedly itself. James Gunn had his vision and executed it. It’s unique and loud and irreverent, and it knows it. And I love that.

it’s known that the second movie of a trilogy is always the weakest one, and this film isn’t an exception. however, it was still super good, even if some parts were slow and peter’s father wasn’t an enjoyable character. fire soundtrack, obviously. 7.9/10
Rayne lovedGuardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2i love baby groot so much. the soundtrack mixed with the action makes it’s so much more enjoyable for a non-action lover. I enjoy actually getting to understand each characters backstory and connection. Phenomenal movie. Shed a single tear at the end.

By the end of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, the audience is unlikely to feel they’ve seen anything that different from Vol. 1, but it’s clear that Gunn and company knew exactly what qualities made the first film so enjoyable, and what they needed to do to make sure this particular sequel was worth the wait.

The sharp comic timing and devil-may-care breeziness of the original only return intermittently, and the new film’s emphasis is on family feuds and forgiveness. It’s heavy on the feels. There are hugs.
