Felt so real, this has been my favorite movie of the year without question. I simply just connected and cared about the people, they felt like real people struggling and couldn’t be better honestly. Very cathartic for me, I just felt so strong about the people on screen and I was stunned by the performances. All around nearly perfect for me as of just watching the film. I love almost all of Noah Baumbach’s film and for myself I think he is only getting better. Its my favorite of his movies and my favorite movie of the year, I just can’t recommend it enough.
Good movie if slightly long! Laura Dern is amazing.
Such a great movie. Watching it in theaters was definitely the right choice. The director did such an amazing job with this film.
At its best, this movie is searing. It pinpoints many of the little talked-about aspects of divorce that seem the least significant but hurt the most. It also eviscerates the practice of Family Law without apology.
How does a small tale of love found and lost emerge as a major triumph and one of the very best movies of the year? Marriage Story is more than just a career high for writer-director Noah Baumbach (The Meyerowitz Stories, The Squid and the Whale); it’s a peerless showcase for its stars, Adam Driver and Scarlett Johansson, who turn this tale of a contentious divorce into a Kramer vs. Kramer for the 21st century.
Featuring powerhouse performances by Scarlett Johansson and Adam Driver, Noah Baumbach's divorce drama is a bruising tour-de-force.
