Atom User Reviews for Macross Frontier: The False Songstress (Gekijouban Makurosu F: Itsuwari no utahime)
Loads of missiles, aliens, and singing in typical Macross fashion. Thankfully this recap movie is much more concise than the TV show it's adapted from, and the additional concert scenes make the whole world feel more fleshed-out in addition to providing some great fanservice. The highlights of the love triangle between Sheryl, Ranka, and Alto stay in tact without degrading into annoying reminders that so-and-so's feelings got hurt. Throw in some fantastic action and well-crafted songs and you've got yourself a proper addition to the Macross universe
more than just a rehash of the first few episodes of the TV show. more than half was new content and extra visuals for old scenes felt fresh again instead of rewatching an episode.
Excited to see Macross come to the US after so many years! The music in this film is amazing. Loved the space combat too!
Wonderful that I was able to see this finally on the big screen after seeing it on a smaller screen... via other sources. One problem was not with the movie itself but, because of some glitch with the projector and staff not knowing, missed much of the pre-movie content with Megumi Nakajima and Aya Sado. Hopefully this won't happen with the second movie...
So happy I finally saw it on the big screen!
Loved it. They didn’t just retell the anime. They explored a little of the “what ifs.”
Worth every second
loved the new telling of the story one thing stood out though when there is a song and music starts playing seems like it was lacking "ooomph" should of been loud base slightly off from busting my ear drums but no just wasn't loud at all might of gotten a bad theater or something but other then that i enjoyed the movie hope they do better on next one.
