when your subject is so interesting and talented, it’s hard to deliver an unenjoyable doc even when you’re making bizarre filmmaking choices. but honestly any qualms i had were buried the second i heard linda perry perform what’s up live at the after party.

very, very cool to see linda perry in-person for this. (also seeing her perform what's up at oasis may be one of the most life-affirming moments of my year). wish the documentary got out of her way and let her brutal, vulnerable self come fully to the fore.
