Synopsis

    spectacular film the many homages to different genres was truly amazing to watch and kept me fascinated up to the credits — the 2D portion was beautifully done loved the strong female energy, it doesn’t feel backhanded/male-gazey gonna be thinking abt this movie for a while

    came into it hopeful but there was ultimately very little for me to enjoy about this movie. maybe i should have known better because the only people who rave about it are strange (in the bad way) men and boys. not even the most brainwashed women claim to like it 🤷🏻‍♀️

    This movie is a mess. I love the plot and how Uma basically carries the whole thing but it’s just poorly done in my opinion. I know the blood effects are supposed to look extreme and tacky but it’s too much, sometimes I bursted out laughing in some scene where I definitely should

    I’ve rewatched this movie so many times and I just love it so much. Uma Thurman is a badass and I love the samurai and Japanese aspects as well. Quinton Tarantino doesn’t miss ever. 9.4/10⭐️

    On rewatch this film is my thrid favourite Tarantino movie. It’s incredibly paced directed and acted. The action is insane in the best possible way and the anime sequences is immaculate overall 9.8/10

Is Kill Bill a homage to great Asian action movies? Yes. Is Tarantino trying to outdo his cherished masters (on a budget that dwarfs their films)? Of course. Is there any other point of any of this? Let's see Vol. 2.
