Johnny Depp, has one of the best performances of his career in a breathtaking, spectacular, incredible film. Words cannot describe the utter perfection of the acting, the colpire, the set design and most of all the masterful directing by Maïwenn!
Penny likedJeanne du BarryIt was interesting and the acting is pretty great. The costume, hair & makeup and decor are amazing. Johnny Depp’s French is very good, without much of an accent. The film is a bit long though and in the end, there wasn’t much challenges for the protagonist.
lut is "meh" onJeanne du BarryThe characters has no development at all, and Jeanne, who should deliver the message of an emancipated woman, actually is a person who does what she does just because the king allows her to do whatever she wants to do, she has no challenges. Costumes and makeup are amazing though

This film completely blew me away with its incredible performances, emotional story, fantastic costume and production design and amazing cinematography. While it released at Cannes in 2023, I’m still saying it’s one of the best films of the year since it just came out in the US.

A great and subtle period romance drama. Wonderful scenery and costumery. Maiwenn and Johnny Depp are amazing. Only a fan of historical love stories will appreciate this movie. Worth seeing.
QNQueen NefiThe was a beautiful love story that I could watch again and again. Jeanne was not only an engaging character but she and Le Roi portrayed so much with so few words. Truly a treat to watch and reminded me why I love movies again.

More frustrating than a misfire, “Jeanne du Barry” suffers instead from near total myopia, roaring to life with wit and ingenuity when the constellations align and the lead’s star can shine, and dwindling before the risk of any possible eclipse. The film burns hot and bright — and quickly flames out.

With all the recent controversy surrounding Depp, not to mention Maïwenn herself, the result of their collaboration is a handsome period piece that feels both flat and shallow, and certainly far from any scandale.
