i really liked the part where it followed them
•lily•Mar 30, 2022i found it very amusing when her friend got upset that she passed the sexually transmitted demon to a different guy and not to him. that was one of the most hilariously realistic depictions of a sexually frustrated high schooler i’ve ever seen.

Um. Big horror fan here. I said “this is creepy” once during the film and that was basically the extent of my engagement. I was wondering how much longer it was going to drag on, only to then be met with the most abrupt ending. I’ve seen better. :/

It's terrific. It's about many things, but dread infuses them all. You won't be grossed out. You'll be creeped out. And that's a lot more satisfying.

It Follows has an impressively sustained sense of dread, less explicit gore than measured tension. Mitchell slyly inverts the conventions of dead-meat teenager flicks, although not with wink-wink comedy like the Scream series. This movie is serious about creeping out viewers, and Mitchell is just artistic enough about it to create a minor masterpiece.
