Atom User Reviews for Insidious: The Red Door
It was just not scary enough and I fell asleep. I like to be spooked out.
The other Insidious movies were better
movie dragged
needed more meat
Not as good as the first 3 boring story
They could have done so much in this movie. The final product was boring and repetitive. Sad :(
Horrible plot and storyline 😔
Theater entrances were locked and I could not enter to see the movie
Was quick and bland
This just wasn’t my favorite out of the series. Hopefully it will be retired.
It may be good but, I couldn’t see the movie since the theatre fire alarm went off and we had to evacuated the building
Trash, can't be the same movie producer from the previous Insidious, they hired contortionist acrobatics for the monster & slapped Halloween makeup on dey face 🥴🤣🤣
Didn’t like that the female lead didn’t throw hands with dolton, it would have made the movie just that much better!
Worst Installment of em all
Trash.
i enjoyed the previous Insidious films, but this was not scary at all. The story was so weak. I think it could have been much deeper. The jump scare scenes fell flat for me compared to past films.
Good movie, lots of jump scares.
it was okay. to much talking
Worst of the Insidious movies, unfortunately.
Meh. Disjointed and predictable. And I don’t need a “feel good” story (or a “moral of the story” that, when it was uttered, we all laughed) in a horror movie.
wasn't the best
The 1st and 2nd were AMAZING. They milked this franchise though.. they had good jump-scares but thats it. They ended this franchise in a cute way lol. I now know why this was rated PG-13 instead of R. The story made sense but they hype for the movie did not match. This should’ve been the 3rd 🤷🏽♀️ but not worth paying to see it in theaters.
Really good! I'm pleasantly surprised. I'd say this is about as good as the second one.
Could’ve been better
great movie with horror chills 😌
D-Box Seats made it that much better!
Had plenty of jump-scares but not enough details & the ending seem as if it was rushed?
A lot of loop holes and not really scary.
Make another movie as the finale.
I have watched the past movies and wanted to see this one. I brought my mom and was thankful that it’s one of those movies where you didn’t have to watch the past ones first. It recapped past movies which was very helpful for my mom to understand.
Loved every second of it so much I saw it twice. A great 'conclusion' to the Lambert Family story, and a great addition to the Insidious series.
Lame…
story is weak
so loud which made it more scary
It was as good as I expected it to be!
I liked it a lot
Awesome Movie
Had many jump scares highly recommend.
Better than the rest
Was very disappointed. Seeing all the insidious movies this one let me down. Very repetitive. Stupid to be honest.
My poor claustrophobia heart.
Great jumping scenes, overall movie is the same. Nothing different.
If you watched all 4 you will definitively enjoy this 10/10 must watch again!
Movie wasn’t like the others don’t waste your time!
The amount of times I jumped 😩 it was pretty good tho 👍
Partial serve!!
Predictable left halfway through
Good buildup to a lukewarm ending. Some fun scares though. Not as good as 1 & 2 but still a decent watch.
I enjoyed it. Not scary in the keep you up at night sense, but had some good jumps in it definitely!
Metacritic
Similar to Wan’s The Conjuring universe, Insidious has long overstayed its welcome, reaching the point where its spark has quelled and there’s nothing interesting buried within these characters anymore. We have reached the end of the Further.
There are enough dream sequences infiltrating the action to confuse even devoted fans, while Insidious newbies and part-time dabblers are left to wonder when Freddy Krueger might arrive on scene. Wilson’s first stab at direction is not entirely a failure, but neither does he push the franchise to any new heights.
Franchise fans will enjoy seeing the Lamberts again, but newcomers will be baffled by the under-developed story and nonplussed by the over-familiar scares.
