Sometimes the exact movie you needed at that exact moment naturally comes along and there's really no better feeling in the world. Don't know where Inside Llewyn Davis has been all my life, but I'm glad it showed up now.
KarstenMar 9, 2018excuse me — i am homeless. i’m bisexual. i have depression. and i’m new in town.
kaiSep 26, 2013a hell of a lot of truth in this. a hell of a lot of truth. broad cuts at the divide between living & simply being alive, but perhaps more than anything else a gently devastating look at how people change (or how they don't). need to let this one kick around (and will…

When are the Coens going to admit that they are really just incredible record producers with a really good sense for dramatic irony
demi adejuyigbeOct 27, 2014Glossing over the Coen's filmography confirms my immediate sentiment after finishing Inside Llewyn Davis. I have never been moved by one of their films. That is not what they do. They craft tales that shy the beaten path, fill them with semi-human characters and embrace the…

pre-star wars oscar isaac and adam driver singing the words “please don’t shoot me into outer space” together is something very amusing to me 🤠
˗ˏˋ suspirliam ˊˎ˗Jun 10, 2020Movies are made about people with immense talent, and occasionally comedies are made about people with no talent, but rarely are movies made about people with some talent. In some ways it’s the ultimate tragedy. One of my favorite Coen brothers
Ethan ColburnOct 19, 2017i don’t wanna seem dramatic but oscar isaac is really the most beautiful man of all time. this isn’t even remotely subjective it’s just the truth so jot that down

This is Oscar Isaac’s best role imo. He plays a depressed folk singer very well, and the dude has pipes. The Coen brothers know how to tell a great story.
I really loved this movie, honestly truly felt what he goes through and it sucks. The way it cycles back to being almost exactly the same, the audience (again) feel what he goes through almost every day. The mourning of his lose, we all went through the stages of grief with him
I enjoyed this while I watched it but it’s not a film I would feel inclined to rewatch as the plot is almost nonexistent and the movie has no finality to it. However, Oscar Isaac and his songs in it are great, and John Goodman’s character steals the scenes he’s in

Really great forgotten gem. I don’t think Oscar Isaac gets enough recognition for this role. Kinda Spoiler? The cyclical storytelling makes it a true tragic story, the feeling that our main character will never leave this cycle of self-destruction
Great performances, great story, great cinematography, KILLER soundtrack. However, for some reason, I can’t see this as being something to rewatch. Still worth having a look, especially if you like folk music (I listen to too much Bob Dylan).

A good and underrated gem from the Coen Brothers. With some great performances and the story was crafted in a unique way than any previous film about a musician.
Based loosely on one of my favorite musicians (Dave Van Ronk) and oh boy it was boring. Ronks memoir was FAR more exciting than this. Nothing happened.
