It’s called Imaginary because you have to use your imagination to pretend it’s good. Clever joke Blumhouse, but let’s make a good movie instead.

Whoppa Birthday likedImaginaryGenuinely half an hour longer than it needs to be. There are some interesting ideas throughout that would be better if expanded upon and possibly given a R rating. Acting was surprisingly great. Wouldn’t mind seeing a sequel that shows the imagination land more in-depth. Decent.

This was bad. From the dialogue to the cheap jump scares to characters shifting attitudes on a dime and especially to the exposition dump in the third act. Our theater was laughing at it. Worth it if you have a drink and laugh at the film. But don’t take this one seriously.

Imaginary is utterly forgettable, bland, and directionless, ironically so, as for a film that lauds the power of imagination, it shockingly neglects the very element of its own ethos.
