Here's the thing about Idiocracy. It's inventive, it's funny, it's packed with hilarious visual gags, but... (1) It's smug. (2) It perpetuates the idea that "idiocy" (as defined by the film) is hereditary. And the idea that natural selection must be permitted to…

So you know this white guy who thinks that “if black people don’t want to be in jail, maybe they need to stop committing crimes”? Yeah, this is his favorite movie.

Ten years ago, this movie was hilarious, chock full of belly laughs. Today, it is a painful glimpse into our current path to society’s undoing. Still funny, but now also very sad.

solid 5/10 film was alright but wouldn’t watch again. The premise of this film was unique with a deep meaningful message but covered up by fart jokes and constant sex jokes it just got to annoying over time and repetitive. If it took itself seriously it would be way higher

Watched June 29th 2025 - 1.5/5⭐️ I kept getting clips of this on TikTok so decided to give it a watch, I shouldn’t have. I’d say this was hilarious in 2006 but doesn’t hit the same in 2025. A bunch of poop/fart jokes, kicks in the balls and childish comedy. Wouldn’t watch again

If it is considered as a comedy, but i suppose that it is a comedy only for the year of release. Modern situation with society proves the slow reduction of all practice that due to Norbert Elias constructed that level of human development, which now we call “civilisation”.

Really wanted to like this movie because the idea sounded unique and found one clip funny online but aside from that it was just extremely boring and I get the joke is that people are idiots but it worked a bit too well because I could feel my brain cells leaving me

An average Joe really can become the president, as long as they’re surrounded by idiots. Very dumb and funny. Right up my alley

Ten years later, Idiocracy’s real achievement isn’t how much of it has come true, but how much it continues to disturb.
