Still a fun terrible movie. Christopher Lambert can't act - at all. Sean Connery gives his most ethnically perplexing role of his career. Mr. Krabs is Insane. And everything is so bad, but so funny.
Adryon ThomasMar 16, 2026Very dumb, like dumb enough to cast a Frenchman as a Scotsman and a Scotsman as an Egyptian Spaniard…and yet I cannot deny that it kinda rocks

Still arguably the dorkiest movie ever made, and I love every second of it. Everything is epic and clumsy in equal measure, with god level coke nose visual panache from Mulcahy. Yet the strangest thing to me will always be having Connery play an Egyptian in a movie that has…

David SimsOct 23, 2011The immortal Connor MacLeod (Luke Skywalker) begins life as a normal chap in 16th century Scotland, but is cast out of his village under suspicion of devilry when he miraculously recovers from an obviously fatal battle wound. Sean Connery stars as Ramiraz (Ben Kenobe),…

Better than I remembered. At the very least this is an extremely well-shot movie -- with an almost impossibly nimble camera manned by cinematographer Gerry Fisher. The camera is always moving; often with these distorted fish-eye lenses. The frame is filled with smoke and…

Loved this movie when it came out. Upon rewatch it does not hold up… at all. A unique opportunity for a reboot. If done well could be a classic.
They had the money, the names, the material, the effects (sort of), the soundtrack... they basically had all the ingredients to cook up a classic. Unfortunately, they overcooked it and created an epileptic nightmare. Far too loud. Far too flashy. Far too long. Far too sloppy. The upcoming remake…
This movie is so bad it’s good again. Most scenes are just hilariously awful. The acting, the costumes, set design, the writing and editing could be straight out of a funny parody of the movie but the fact that it was intended to be serious makes it just 10x funnier. I like the scene where after a…

Has some strange writing & acting in here, and can be cheesy, but there's a few good fights, and the flashbacks with Ramirez are a highlight. There's some poignant aspects to McLeod's characterization, but nothing too special. Oh, but at least now I know what happened to my car in the parking…
Interesting concept: immortals bound by fate & combat, kill each other until only one remains. The dual timelines give it flavor & Queen’s soundtrack elevates everything. Connor is a compelling enough lead & the swordplay feels mythic. It’s rough around the edges but imaginative.

Watching it again after about 20yrs, it doesn’t quite hold up as much as I remember it. Still a great story though. A Frenchman playing a Scotsman A Scotsman playing an Egyptian What’s not to love. Looking forward to the Cavill remake which should be coming out soon
Chaotic, mesmerisingly brillant and with Queen; what more could you possibly want!! The concept is wild, the sword fights are iconic and the cameo from Sean Connery knocked it out the park. “There can only be one.” is burnt into my brain and I loved every second of it.
