mia lee vicinoCmon I can't be the only one who did a little "wow" when Harold first spoke and his voice was way deeper than I thought it'd be

The millisecond shot of the numbers on Maude’s arm is one of the greatest shots of all time.
HersheyJun 21, 2016i can't believe wes anderson was able to direct this at the ripe young age of 2
mememilyMaude embraced life then embraced death. Harold embraced death then embraced life.

all this time i thought that actor was like 12 years old
BriannaAug 30, 201687/100 I think the final moments hit as hard as they do because Harold was never embracing reality before Maude's death. The loss of life freed constraints and personal imprisonments surrounding him, but each gesture, conversation, look, movement in the hospital is…
SilentDawnSep 15, 2020I have trouble articulating how much this movie means to me, but I’ll give it a shot... Why is a movie about a suicidal 20 year old falling in love with an eccentric old lady my favorite movie of all time? It’s because I think it captures both my fears and my dreams, and…

“The earth is my body my head is in the stars!” This movie was well done, the dark comedy was perfect, the cinematography was memorable, the soundtrack put it all together. They make such a pair, Maude is a riot. The age gap questionable but made sense for their characters. 8/10
"A lot of people enjoy being dead, but they're not really dead, they're js backing away from life." Beautiful execution to my favourite themes of all time. I need a 2-hour talk session with Maude so bad ugh. Incredible soundtrack, lovely and heartwarming writing. 4/5
Harold falling in love with Maude kinda took me out of it, but despite that, I loved both of their characters, and the dark humor is surprising for the time and quite hilarious. The ending is a gut punch but also beautiful, so I'm glad I took the chance on this one.

One of the weirdest movies ever. But for some reason I can watch it over and over.
Incredibly dark comedy with two standout performances and well-crafted, interesting characters. The story has a wholesomeness to it despite the dark subject matter/ references at times. I wasn’t particularly a fan of what happens before the end, but how it does end I was a fan of
a deadpan dramedy masterpiece with music and visuals almost as perfect as the lead performances. with a sharp and self-aware script and a ridiculously fresh perspective for its time, harold and maude is a joyous and life-affirming film for nihilists of all ages. tremendous

the age gap is weird. even as they are married, they are more like friends in my eyes. How apathetic can the mom be??? like your son has "killed" himself over 15 times and you just go, oh, I suppose you find this funny Harold, oh stop being silly. Like, huh??
A very bizarre take of romance which is quite deadpan and weird. I value how odd this makes you feel. Not for everyone but I find it fascinating when a young person has an old soul. An acquired taste but if you want something odd give this a go.
