Atom User Reviews for Halloween (2018)
This film ain’t it
The shock/horror factor was missed as did the ship this fiasco sail in on. I was expecting an epic battle but found myself bored most of the time complimented with predictable scenarios. Ughhhh disappointed to say the least.....my favorite scene is Julian stealing the entire show with his humor.
Anyone who loves the original should definitely see it. Some plots within were weak, but for the most part, it's a solid movie that should make any Michael Myers' fan quite excited.
Was expecting better. All that build-up for a weak and predictable ending. Best part was the kid, Julian.
I could've waited til dvd for this
Movie sucked a lot.
Amazing movie, lots up pop ups lol😂 heart pounding scenes and everything
LOOKS AMAZING!
Not that impressed to be honest.
Wasn’t even spooky like the old ones it had more comedy
You’ll appreciate this movie if you are a fan of the original. Certainly had a 70’s feel to it. I loved it.
Expected more action.
The movie was good but my expectations were higher than the movie delivered.
It was ok. I think the hype was so strong I went in with too high expectations. But it’s still enjoyable!
it was okay not scary enough for me
They missed the point of the original which was to scare people. Not scary at all.
YES!!!!!!!!
This movie was ehhhh!!! Expected to be extremely scary.
Just not very good, boring, redundant probably could’ve left it alone at the last one
It was alright. They could’ve done more in my opinion.
It wasnt bad, but I thought it would be better.
Just fine. Not good, not bad.
It wasn’t what I expected but it was ok
Just dumb.
very predictable
Was expecting better....
I really enjoyed HALLOWEEN Michael Myers was definitely more brutal and more kills. Can't wait to see where they take the franchise.
AWESOME MOVIE DEFINITELY A MUST WATCH
Kept it like the original. Loved it.
It was made beautifully im so glad i got to see one of the LEGIT halloween movies #michaelMyres
Suspenseful
Love how they brought back John Carpenters version , feels original
CAN'T WAIT!!!
Must see , this Halloween movie is great
I quite enjoyed it! It had it's scary moments but much more of a suspenseful movie. Being one that is not a fan of scary movies I really liked it. Always the slight incorporation of humor was nice. Definitely not kid friendly though!
This is a must see movie very well done. it is clear why John & Jamie got on board with this script.
Good movie
I have to say I really enjoyed watching this Halloween.
Loved it!
I'm literally so scared right now. Jamie Lee Curtis is the real star and does not get the credit she deserves in Hollywood in my opinion she should be making ton's of films, especially after finding out she was the executive producer of this film. really good job to Judy Greer and the chick who played her daughter. Without the amazing performances from the cast this would be just another Michael Myers walks slow and kill's people gruesomely but, the whole cast really did a great job of building the suspense and the story.
I am so excited for this movie I just can’t wait to see it!!! It is finally starting to feel like Halloween again when u bring back a throwback.
It's so nice to be back in a real horror movie again
Was looking forward to this. Not terrible, but not good either. After this, no more Halloween movies, please.
This movie was awesome
Garbage
i spent my free ticket on this movie, felt robbed.
Ehhh
More of a suspense vs a horror film. Definitely had some great moments
Typical slasher flick but McBride's writing is clearly evident during some of the conversations. Good gory moments too!
Metacritic
While it doesn’t do much to elevate the genre, Halloween does tick each and every box, which should be more than enough to appease your run of the mill fanboy, but scare off anyone with half a brain.
By staying true only to the initial narrative, this Halloween solidly ranks as the best chapter since the first – not exactly the highest bar – mostly by making Laurie (a remarkable Jamie Lee Curtis, whose last appearance in the series was 2002's Halloween: Resurrection) anything but a victim.
This isn’t a glorious rebirth, it’s a functional facsimile, and it’s a wholly satisfying piece of slasher entertainment regardless.
