DirkHOct 31, 2018When exposed, he only pauses. It's nothing new to note that the horror in many slashers--especially this one--are women's horrors. Stalking, sexual violence, threats to children, threatening phone calls, these are products of patriarchy that women--whether we like it or…

lex dislikedHalloween3/10 it's a typical horror which didn't really excite me - it was boring. i didn't want to finish it and it was very predictable. wouldn't watch again ever.
Kareem dislikedHalloweenAnother overrated garbage. Call it a classic all you want, it will never change the fact that it’s terrible. There’s a huge difference between calling a movie good because you watch it during a cozy time of the year or whatever, and it actually being good. Terrible acting from-

Sabrina Bondi likedHalloweenEven 40 years later, this proves to be a timeless classic. Carpenter shows his early greatness at executing a simple, yet frightening, concept with style and excellence. Michael Myers is an icon and it's all because of this original gem.
Trevoe lovedHalloweenWhat can I say that hasn’t been said? This movie is a classic. It started a lot of tropes and molded the slasher genre into what it is today. I think everyone can take something from the original even if you don’t like horror. 8/10

7/10 It’s a cult classic I grant and you have to watch it at least once but personally the plot was missing something that would have made it stand out.

The unmasking reveal at the beginning of the movie is a great coup, and the film continues to be very scary, helped by Carpenter's own theme: a trebly plinking of piano notes and that buzzy synth in low register.

You know those countless slasher flicks in which a psychotic maniac slices his way through horny teenagers, only to be thwarted by the virginal heroine in the end? Halloween is the fountainhead. Despite countless imitators, however, few have been able to match the level of craft and psychological depth on display here. Halloween is a landmark, and a legitimately enduring classic.

Regardless of how silly you think it all is, this will have you scared witless by the time the end credits roll; low budget horror hog heaven.
