if you thought 'the witch' was too fast-paced and action-packed have i got the movie for you!
andy levyDec 7, 2019An audiovisual psychosis. A very precise vision with atmos that creeps like mist in the woods or smoke on a mountain... slow, suffocating, and unsettling—a deliberately paced pagan trance jam, shot beautifully/confidentially and most certainly will test a lot of people’s…
Ian WestOct 9, 2017The Austrian Alps provide the dramatic setting for this dark tale of witchcraft and derangement in 15th Century Europe. Albrun lives with her mother in an isolated hut, high up on the snowbound slopes. Her life is a difficult one, having to contend with her mother's failing…

imagine The Witch (2015) at 40% speed and 80% horny
BriannaJul 6, 2020A hypnotic folk tale about a nasty goat-loving witch who can’t handle her shrooms and pays the ultimate price for it.
GriffinJan 8, 2020For ages I have been searching for a horror film with the aesthetics of female-fronted doom metal. I have found that film. https://twitter.com/willow_catelyn/status/1215351066268721152

Slow cinema sister to THE WITCH, a symbolist hypno-drone, sometimes ostentatiously bleak, not-infrequently reminiscent of Hadziahalilovic's stuff.

Films like this should be judged by their merit as a piece of art rather than their ability to entertain. This film has stunning visuals, incredible music, and an oppressive atmosphere. Don’t expect to have a good time, but rather to be struck by the sheer wonder of it all.
beautiful landscapes, but wtf was that?it's very very slow, but it's strange and creepy and I found myself saying what the fukc quite a few times during it..... idk. watch it if you want, I'm neither happy nor upset I watched it.

not my type of movie, very confusing story with some quite disturbing scenes. Don't know how many times I raised my eyebrows saying "wtf", watch it if you want to give your brain a tickle.
it was beautifully shot but quite the slow burn. it truly is uncomfortable to watch at times and the ending was lost on me.
