Atom User Reviews for Guy Ritchie's The Covenant
10/10, one of the best movies I’ve ever seen. Intense and does a good job of connecting you to the cast.
Loved this movie. I laughed. I cried. Great cast. Great action. Made me wonder how we could help get those who helped us out of there. We owe them so much!
The spirit of USA is redeemed in more ways than one! The Statue of Liberty’s message is vetted. I will see this again!! The cast was spot-on! The music must be recognized at the Academy Awards next year!! Best supporting actor goes to The Interpreter!! 🇺🇸
Just felt like this movie has been made about 5-6x already.. and each was better than this. Jake G. Is hard to believe as a tough guy, or even a smart guy.. just going through the motions.. as did this film. Overall, enjoyed it.. but felt like they wrote it in about 20 minutes after watching Hurt Locker, American Sniper, Lone Survivor, Zero Dark Thirty.. all of which were awesome and original. This was a rinse and repeat. That said, the interpreter character was awesome and is the reason for the 2 stars.
Another Amazing Guy Ritchie Movie. Great Cast, Great Dialogue and Amazing Action sequences!! Go see this Movie for sure in a big screen Theater!!
Cried so much brought back memories i wish to forget. This is a great movie to see if you wanna see some great action and cry a bit
What an amazing Film loved every minute dull of action! Definitely a muy buy when it comes out on DVD
Jake Gyllenhaal and Dar Salim really made this movie! Great intensity and action. Love Guy Richie's directing war direction style. Different from his typical way, but everything worked very well. We even took our 11 year old and he loved it! A true reminder of all the interpreters who were sadly left in Afghanistan after the US pulled out of the country..
Unbelievable story and amazing actors!!!! Love Guy Ritchey!
it was like playing a COD (Call of Duty) campaign. nothing stood out, and the movie was OK
I loved it
Gripping… start to finish
Honor, character, respect, keeping our word, fulfilling our promises
Great movie… Guy does it again ! A Must see !
Kind of a mid action movie
I loved this movie! It's action packed and I held my breath more than once. Love that it's based on a true story, makes it that much better. Emotion filled as well. It had been a while since I appreciated a Hollywood movie
Great story. Solid buddy flick.
Guy Ritchie really, I mean, REALLY, wants you to know that he made the movie. His name is plastered ALL OVER the place!
Went into this movie on a whim because I typically like Guy Ritchie films. I was not expecting the level of tense, raw emotion and reverence that this film provided.
I was on the edge of my sit that's how great the movie was so real.
Must see
Partially reminiscent of years in service to our county ~ hat off & salute to the team for a truly gripping performance
really good movie.
Me and my GF went to see this movie. She wasn’t all I to it at first. But then all the action started taking place. It’s very attention grabbing and you def don’t want to miss a second of this movie. 100/10.
Cinematography, acting, script, dialogue it really has it all. Great story
Great movie! Frustrating that “the system” can be so slow that it takes one guy to put his own life on the line to do what our country should have done in the first place. Politics aside, the cast was great and believable and the action was pretty cool. The big moments felt pretty big as they should be. Worth a watch!
Outstanding Story!!!!
Amazing
Great movie! I wish they expanded on the plot more to get him out. The focus on the beginning was extensive. Overall great movie.
Good movie
It was so good I’m upset it not performing in theater it so good acting was spot on the emotional moments hit you almost every way the actions in this movie was intense was heart pounding and be on edge of your seats
Loved the movie but I wish there was more action than the drama. But for me was an 7.5/10
Great movie… wasn’t sure what to expect. I just had high hopes, and they were more than exceeded! ❤️
War is brutal, nice to see that someone was willing to make a difference ‼️
Metacritic
It’s the best film he’s made in years.
If The Covenant were only an interrogation of the hollowness of American exceptionalism, as its first hour suggests, it’d be among the most honest portrayals of the country’s role in the region. But Ritchie eventually awakens from his stupor, pushing this combat-action flick to gonzo territory.
The movie’s messaging has a righteous and educational undertone that makes this a worthy addition to the genre.
