Synopsis
Set in current day Brooklyn, Good Posture is the gentle comedy story of a lazy but charming and beautiful young woman who has got used to using men to make her life easier, but after finally pushing one man too far, is forced to discover that she can live a happier life by taking responsibility for herself and not rely on those around her as easy props.

The 22-year-old Van Patten is a more than capable solo lead: the breakout star of Noah Baumbach’s The Meyerowitz Stories, she has an invaluable knack for making her characters’ worst traits their most compelling features.

It’s a small, lightweight picture but Good Posture is alive to the messy realities of becoming a grown-assed adult, becoming more charming and involving as it goes on. It also suggests a bright future for writer-director Dolly Wells.
