Synopsis
Winner of eight Academy Awards® (plus two special achievement Oscars) Celebrate the 85th Anniversary of one of the most celebrated motion pictures of all time, Gone With the Wind! Clark Gable, Vivien Leigh, Olivia de Havilland and Hattie McDaniel star in this classic epic of the American South. On the eve of the American Civil War, rich, beautiful and self-centered Scarlett O'Hara (Leigh, in her Oscar winning role) has everything she could want—except Ashley Wilkes (Leslie Howard). But as the war devastates the South, Scarlett discovers the strength within herself to protect her family and rebuild her life. Through everything, she longs for Ashley, seemingly unaware that she is already married to the man she really loves (Gable) - and who truly loves her - until she finally drives him away. Only then does Scarlett realize what she has lost...and decides to win him back.
This special 85th anniversary event includes exclusive insight from Leonard Maltin.

for one reason or another, people repeatedly call Gone with the Wind dated. this iconic epic is steeped in the ideologies and social structures of its time, a vivid tableau of an era long past, an idea that the film explores with a mythical longing. yet, as i immersed…
SamAug 8, 2022If Scarlett could just TAKE A HINT that Ashley Wilkes doesn’t love her the way she thinks he does, this film would be fifteen minutes long.

One of the best movies I've seen, I highly recommend it, you will experience a wonderful narrative between drama, war, family, racial discrimination, love, patience, dream and betrayal, and many other things, enjoy! 🥹🥹🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
This movie did something to me. Scarlet was pissing me off how she kept going back to Ashley 😒 she doesn’t deserve Rhett. Also Rhett was smoking everybody w/ his insults omg💀 Anyways, now I’m striving for a man like Rhett 😢 he rlly cared for Bonnie. It made me want to cry. 8/10

I know this was the movie that changed film or whatever, but my god. Scarlett is the single most annoying, selfish, idiotic character in history. This is just about two toxic relationships while being on the losing side of a war. Had some nice cinematic shots though.

It took me a full 4 days to get through this movie… but it was definitely worth it! I find watching this in the modern day to be complicated. Of course, it’s set from a Confederate perspective, but dives into love, loss, home, freedom, slavery, rich, poor, faithfulness, and more!
I “get” it, but I also GET what an amazing, Hollywood epic this is. Is it a fantasy Civil War depiction? Yes. But for a time when Hattie McDaniel wasn’t even allowed to SIT WITH the cast at the Oscars & yet won? Come on! Respect Hattie. You don’t have to play a mammy no more.

I was amazed when the movie was over and I found it had been 4 hours long. great movie, stands the test of time, I will see it again

Clear an evening and indulge yourself in one of the few films that can justifiably be called an epic.
A towering landmark of film, quite simply because it tells a good story, and tells it wonderfully well.
Well, even if it is essentially four hours about a selfish, silly cow, it's impeccably well made, and should be seen by anyone with even a passing interest in romance or movies.
