As a Fan of the original Gladiator, I feel the continuation was perfectly executed. Incorporating characters of the original film, amazingly done. I went in expecting a horrible sequel and it ended up surprising me. Great job on the film! Will probably go and see it again this weekend.

Worth the wait. 24 years !!!!!!

Underwhelming. They were trying to force it. Definitely could have waited until Netflix or another streaming service picked it up.

Comes so close to being a good movie, if not a great one, but misses a few key marks in the writing. We needed to connect more with the main character, to understand his motivations and reasoning more. But as it is, it just feels hollow; devoid of any real depth or meaning. That being said, the action is great and the visuals are very appealing! If you can forget about that completely nonsensical boat scene in the flooded, shark infested colosseum (what were the filmmakers thinking??) then it's a very enjoyable time.

It was pretty good but before seeing this one should definitely watch the first movie

Better stay in home

It was fine. Was it as good as the first, no. Was it a decent sequel, sure. Did some scenes just kind of wrap up without any idea of how, yes. If you're expecting 2000 Gladiator this isn't for you. Also It definitely plays on nostalgia.

compared to Part 1 this movie has very underdeveloped characters very ambiguous and confusing intentions specially Denzel Washington's character. everybody played their part excellent but there are no characters at the level of Russell crow or joaquin phoenix. high praises to cgi guys , Rome looks better than ever.

Heavy fighting, minimal storyline

no character building, was not able to capture any attachment to any of the characters and you definitely feel the length of the movie plus CGI mess

This movie had so much action you literally move in your seat with every blow the actors endured. So FAR… From all the new releases movies I so far seen in this year for 2024 this is the best movie. It caters to a large audience of new fans.

Movie was amazing but ending fell short.

l did not like the visual effects but everything else was top notch. Shout out T-Mobile for making the price of admission cheaper!

Strength and Honor

It was a good watch, lots of action and really good up close fight scenes. The plot was a bit corny at times, but overall a great film.

Reviewers too often like hearing themselves talk. Or in this case, reading themselves type. One reviewer said the plot didn't make sense. The plot made perfect sense. This is a good movie. See it.

My mouth was open in awe

I really liked this sequel. It kept the heart and energy of the original while also bringing in new characters that are nearly fleshed out. The wardrobe and scenery definitely made this world bigger. I however didn’t like certain lines, especially an overly repeated line, forcing a plot line that I personally felt a bit disconnected with the original. Nevertheless, amazing acting from Pascal and Mescal- but true art from Mr. Denzel Washington!

Washington has the most fun, swishing about in dangling jewels and flowing robes, while Mescal—one of our best young actors—struggles to define Lucius outside of Crowe’s shadow. As for the relentless fights and battles, I found them to be increasingly tedious—even the wild ones with animals, given their reliance on CGI effects.

All of Ridley Scott's glorious pageantry is undercut by a script tragically burdened by cliches and characters who make stupid choices.

Like so many latter-day Ridley Scott films, Gladiator II at once feels half-baked and overstuffed, and the lack of internal consistency robs its action of sustained tension and its comedy of bite.
