Synopsis

Inspired by the real-life story of Prince Naseem "Naz" Hamed, a British-Yemeni boxer, and his journey from humble beginnings to becoming a world champion and his training under Brendan Ingle, who played a crucial role in his success.
Moviegoers are saying
This Prince Naseem Hamed biopic delivers an unexpectedly emotional punch, focusing on the complex mentor-student relationship between the flamboyant boxer and his trainer Brendan Ingle rather than typical boxing movie clichés. While audiences praise Pierce Brosnan's heartfelt performance and the film's unique angle on the legendary featherweight champion, some note budget constraints and heavy-handed exposition that occasionally undermines the compelling true story.

Some interesting material here, but the punches don’t land.

It’s very much the point of Athale’s screenplay that life was too short for such a grudge after the epic association these men had. By saying so, Giant hoists itself out of sports-biopic ordinariness and becomes really quite moving.
