Drunk mumbling James Dean! Baby Dennis Hopper! The climactic scene is Rock Hudson fighting a racist guy in a diner! What a picture!
Patrick WillemsJul 1, 2014James Dean plays an unrecognizable middle-aged, grey-haired, alcoholic playboy... and it's glorious.
ryanAug 9, 2019as much as i love rock hudson, if i’d just married him then rolled up on a ranch where a sweaty james dean and his lithe body were slouching all up against pickup trucks, adjusting his cowboy hat, making bad tea and just being generally messy, i would leave rock so fast

"Money isn't everything, Jett. " "Not when you've got it."
Justin BryantDec 25, 2013who ever thought a movie called GIANT would be so long? Stevens is my kind of filmmaker. Liz Taylor shrouded in darkness during her pivotal tiff with Rock Hudson, the long-take of Jamws Dean climbing his newly bequeathed wind turbine, the wide shot of James Dean's final…
davidehrlichAug 19, 2020I feel like the following does a great job of representing the spectrum of my sexuality: 1. elizabeth taylor whispering “come on partner, why don’t you kick off your spurs.” 2. james dean with all but the bottom two of his shirt buttons undone, grumbling under his breath…

A very important cinematographic landmark for its time, but, of course, well known for being James Dean’s last big picture along with magnificent performances such as Miss Elizabeth Taylor and the illustrious Rock Hudson. A film that addresses complex and uncomfortable…

I enjoyed this epic film. Such an all star cast with Elizabeth Taylor playing wonderfully with two stunning male leads in Rock Hudson & James Dean. The story about family, race and legacy all set in Texas was very good watch. If anything it was just too long so drift out in parts
anais is "meh" onGiantHoly cow. 🐄 I saw someone call this the “War and Peace” of cinema. I wish I would’ve know that before attempting to watch this. I just don’t have to equipment necessary to understand and enjoy this film I think. I’m just not a film pro like that. Maybe if it was in book form…
Mickerdoo likedGiantEven with a shining example of a wife, it still took Bick a lifetime to straighten up. Jett started sour and only got more bitter with wealth. Uncle was about the only worthwhile male role model. Interesting to see the family grow old and push their parents into new thinking.

thought it was amazing for a film from 1956, it seemed modern. fantastic character growth from start to end with all characters. I would have to say that even though the big name of James dean drew me in, I think Elizabeth Taylor carried the film.
Yocee Fr likedGiantToo long to tell too little. The story isn’t always gripping. The atmosphere, on the other hand, makes the film very compelling. The Texas setting and the sense of vastness of their isolated land have a real charm to them.
Kward0610 lovedGiantTruly an epic western film. A great story with great performances and beautiful cinematography. I loved this one
