This thing is just incredible. Perfect premise with a near-perfect execution. All of the jokes hold up, it’s “holy cow, that guy is in this??” city, and the creature designs and effects are just shockingly good for a comedy in 1999. Gabe said “these are honestly better than…
demi adejuyigbeJul 25, 2020If you watch this while focusing on whatever Sam Rockwell is doing in the background at any given moment it’s like a whole extra mini movie
erictacularSep 13, 2020you can tell how passionate the filmmakers are about star trek, and i think that’s exactly what propels this into greatness. true satire comes from a place of love! sometimes indulges too hard in the very tropes it’s attempting to parody (i.e. sigourney weaver character’s…

Galaxy Quest is to sci-fi what Scream is to horror

Matt SingerDec 18, 2020Very high on the list of amazing movies that should have gotten sequels but didn’t, and are so much better for it.

Sigourney Weaver one of the baddest to ever do it. Steals this movie with her bit of living out bad tropes in science fiction writing like repeating everything the computer says to everyone else who just heard it and having to run through a gauntlet of death that has…
Will MenakerMay 15, 2023Tim Allen is legit great in this. This role plays to all his strengths and non-strengths. He gets the oily, egotistical side of Shatner, but he also has an innate affability that keeps you onboard with him. He is also - and this is very important - an obvious lightweight…

i liked how they went all out with the alien effects even though it was a parody it was neat how everything they showed came back and fit together later i didn’t really think it was that funny, like i chuckled a little but i appreciated their relationships growing to true friends
One of the best parody movies I’ve seen. This movie has an incredible cast who are all amazing in their own way. The comedy is amazing from beginning to end, especially from Sam Rockwell. It’s baffling that this film isn’t talked about more, especially with the star-studded cast.

Classic that knows what it is, does that one thing well, but not much else. Tim Allen, starring himself, is kidnapped by Bronchitis and board-approved hilarity ensues. They tick all the boxes, and boxes all the ticks. Motioning through the goings-on, they go through the motions.
Love watching this movie when I need a laugh. The cast is fabulous and the movie had so many good quotes. - ‘whoever wrote this episode should die.’ - ‘could they be miners? sure they’re like three years old Miners, not MINORS you lost me.’

Dare I say, the single most underrated comedy of all-time? An A+ cast with a strong meta storyline. The FX and actual sci-fi plot help support the overly silly comedy styling. This takes most people by surprise.
I’m sensing a new comfort movie in the works. This movie was really funny and I think it’s a great light-hearted comedy to watch with family. I love Tim Allen movies so this automatically made its way to my heart.
