95 Iconography rising from the grave. Slasher scuzz is transformed within a Gothic zombie cemetary masquerading as laboratory, consumed with relentless carnage, all while the autumnal, whispering leaves are dissipating as slowly as the laughs. A shining example of a…
SilentDawnSep 21, 2013Horshack. Scandal's POTUS. A smart cop. A naughty final girl. Alice Cooper. A great Tommy recasting. Also a new sure fire way to survive Jason: Shoot his ass with a paintball gun. Fun. Fun. Fun.

Goofy, self-aware and a little too trimmed by the MPAA, this entry makes Jason “fun” again while wrapping up the Tommy Jarvis trilogy. The addition of the little kids was a stakes masterstroke and most of the kills are “Splatteriffic” (even when truncated).
Joe LynchFeb 20, 2013Yep, still my favorite. I love the characters. I love the clever, self-referential humor (ten years before SCREAM). I love Thom Matthews (from RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD) as the older Tommy Jarvis. I love the Alice Cooper songs. I love the fact that this is the first…
Jason Alley🏳️🌈🐻Nov 1, 2023Zombie Jason’s here.🧟♂️Hooray!🥳 This movie is so good. The opening with Jason’s corpse being accidentally reanimated from the grave🪦by lightning⚡️is so absurd. And then the James Bond Gun-barrel shot.👌Perfection. Tommy has inexplicably transformed from the flat…

This is the one where Jason is the best dressed ! 🌲
DreamScape40Apr 24, 2022My favourite entry in the franchise. It has a stronger script, better characters and Jason is more imposing than he was in the previous movies. His kills are absolutely brutal here. Plus I love that there is more of a self-awareness to it all, resulting in some fun meta…

Back when I was 12 this used be one my all time favourites I loved slasher movies I did fall of the genre and thought Friday franchise was mid slock but..I loved this movie everything about it leaves me grinning and it’s one the best slashers oat 9.6/10 entirely subjective btw

EASILY my favorite of the franchise. Loved the characters, the story, much better set pieces and variety in locations/kills (even though we’re still just at camp, but above all else JASON. The aura he had in this movie was nuts. Genuinely scary, strong af, creative, just PEAK.
My favorite Friday so far. It doesn’t do anything new or amazing, but it’s far more watchable than the previous five to me and has way fewer glaring errors. Jason acts like Jason, the characters are likable enough, and some of the kills were fun, and that’s enough for me

While it's definitely better than part 5, making Jason a zombie really feels like the series is jumping the shark.
If my dad hadn’t gotten me into these when I was younger this would be a thumbs down

Despite a few lighter touches, the film is still a gory waste of time that plays its murders for all the blood and guts they're worth. There are plenty of cliched reaction shots of faces in terror, more than enough frames filled with bloody knives and severed heads. There is not, however, any suspense about Jason or his victims. He stalks, they scream, he kills. None of it is enough to make you jump out of your seat, though it may be enough to make your stomach churn. [2 Aug 1986, p.9]
Jason Lives is not a good movie. It is as predictable as a City Council vote in the Daley era; a lamely acted film filled with the most contrived slaughter and utterly lacking in suspense. [4 Aug 1986, p.C5]
Sad excuse for a movie. [4 Aug 1986, p.C6]
