End of this movie is a plea for America to get involved in World War II. Well what the hell am I supposed to do about that now
brendan o'hareDec 30, 2022In this bit of not-so-subtle WWII propaganda, Hitchcock paints a nice and twisty spy thriller that may or may not be somewhat akin to a journalist’s egotistical wet dream. When Joel McCrae’s John Jones, an American crime reporter turned foreign correspondent, is sent over…
Matt!May 30, 2021Hitchcock's Foreign Correspondent is one of his very best movies. An espionage thriller (very much an early WWII propaganda piece) elevated by strong lead performances, spectacular sets pieces and Hitchcock's trademark visual genius. The stretch from the assassination up…

hitch, i’m not trying to tell you how to do your job, but this would have been so much better if joel mccrea and george sanders had made out.

SilversaxophoneCinematic Time Capsule 1940 Marathon - Film #41 Listen, I know I look the fool, but there’s something fishy going on around here. Can you imagine having such an astounding track record that a film like ‘Foreign Correspondent’ with it’s 5 Oscar Nominations is simply…
📀 Cammmalot 📀Mar 22, 2026...well, that's the most amazing disappearing trick I've ever seen Even though it has many of Hitchcock’s usual style elements... some he did better in later films, it’s still insane how well made this film is. Just as good as any of his films from the '50s. These…

film wanted to be so many things, and in turn it did none all that well. romance plot was unnecessary, neither was titanic ending. directed really well, with some nice cinematography. wouldve appreciated it more if it stuck to the journalism bit properly
