I spent two hours of my life for nothing
I was bored
not deserving of a half star movie sucks completely period!!!!
There was no excitement shown when he landed or returned. Movie was very slow and boring.. Audio came out too loud at times. The shots are so closeup to the cast that I could almost see into their ear at one point. All in all not worth it.
Great movie I like it but just the ending was weak. They could of did less of the slow parts of the movie and add more action towards the end when they landed on the moon and when returning to earth and saw his wife/family. But over all not bad. Made me appreciate Astronauts and what they have to go through and do more now.
Amazing 🙌🏼!! Loved the cinematography and the original score.. Film of the year!
Very poor cinematography. Looks like the filmed the movie vertically and then cropped it for landscape. Trying something different for them meant not using a dolly for even the most basic shots... simple walking shots were completely ruined by a camera that was too close and shakiness of a elderly Parkinson's patient. poor casting too. maybe they were trying to keep things feeling authentic but man they lost all the movie magic in the process.
We choose to go to the moon. It's an extraordinary miracle made by ordinary people.
Great take on a historic event.
I love space movies and the journey they take. FIrst Man shows us on the emotional journey that Neil Armstrong went through. I would watch his again and again.
Great movie! Very inspirational!
Wow, what a movie! Must see
great way to relive the sixties and the space race
It was a bit of a let down. idk I must have thought it was going to be something different
I have no idea that Neil lost his baby daughter from rare disease and going through financial turmoil which may break his family apart. It was slow at the beginning as you keep watching it, but going to the moon was off the edge because back then it was a risky mission going to the moon first time. You will feel like you are Neil as you are in the movie. Saturn V was a monster machine.
From the perspective of Neil Armstrong....great take on the historical event!
Humanizes news breaking accomplishments!
Perhaps not the most exciting movie, but I learned a lot about Armstrong’s personal life and personality. I didn’t realize everything that went in to this mission and how many failures they experienced. Overall would recommend.
Boring. Dragged on forever
amazing movie ! absolutely worth a watch !
Slooooowwwwww and paaaaiiinfullllll!!! Light on story too. Tom Hanks, where are you?
Couldn’t wait for it to be over. So slow and boring
Great bio pic left me eating something more
While the screen play and story are interesting, it took a really long time to get there.
Mostly slow and boring
This really brought back my childhood memories of this period of hope and adventure.
Shake camera. Slow developing. Not a fan of armstrong’s Wife performance.
amazing that almost 50 years ago we could put a man on the moon, and now we can't put a man into space without the Russians, and now they have a failure.
Visually compelling
Great movie! I would watch it again.
An ok movie if you're interested in some background on Neil Armstrong. Some interesting info and nicely presented. However -- cut the volume of the soundtrack. When you can't hear the dialogue the sound is too loud. Seems to happen in every dramatic moment in the movie, where you get blasted by dramatic music and can't hear a thing being said.
enjoyed the movie... disappointed about not showing the planting of the flag on the moon.
the story that you've seen a million times before already.
Long and boring
It happened in my lifetime and I am proud to have witnessed it. Hollywood brought the emotional and psychological affects to the screen for all to see and did so very very well.
Very captivating!
Loved this superbly crafted film that takes us behind the 'glamour' of space travel, revealing the high level of anxiety and danger imvolved.
ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL
Felt long at times. Good content, interesting to see historical details
It was slow at times but all very believable. I think it will be nominated for sound, sound effects, cinematography and possibly costumes and set design.
First Man was a beautiful movie about humans and their quest and struggle to do something beyond earth.
Not too over-the-top. A measured look at the events leading up to the landing, with focus on the interpersonal strain on Armstrong and his family.
was okay - have seen better.
great movie.
Very well done, moody and dark, a worthy sort-of sequel to The Right Stuff, though not the tour de force of that film
It seems to me to favor form over substance. Special effects over plot. I did enjoy the acting, and the special effects were top-notch. However, it would have been nice if some more personal details were included. For example, how did Neil Armstrong come up with the words he said when he first set foot on the Moon?
it was good. just really slow in some parts.
watch apollo 13. while not the 1st time we landed on the moon. a far better movie
Way too slow as evidenced by my constant yawns.
Thenscenes on the moon and within space pods are astounding. The story amd emotional beats, not so much.
Metacritic
The movie succeeds thanks to director Damien Chazelle’s superb visuals, which land somewhere between the quiet indie look of his previous flick, “La La Land,” and the epic sweep of “Apollo 13.” Space has never looked so sexy, or felt so claustrophobic.
A stunning cinematic achievement that celebrates one of humanity’s biggest triumphs (and mourns the tragedies that happened leading up to it), yet it never loses sight of its personal and small-scale story about a man going to work.
