i really really tried to like this film but it was just too childish for me. i first watched it when i was 9 or 10 and i felt the same way about it then. its one of the negatives of being allowed to watch rated r movies as a child, you lose your ability to just enjoy a film

Platypus Lord likedField of DreamsA tale of the joys of baseball and healing old regrets b/t father & son. The plot feels meandering until its threads tie into a neat ending that will make most people's eyes well up at least a little. Costner is sincere and heartfelt, and you gotta love James Earl Jones.
