"male fantasies, male fantasies, is everything run by male fantasies? up on a pedestal or down on your knees, it's all a male fantasy: that you're strong enough to take what they dish out, or else too weak to do anything about it. even pretending you aren't catering to male…
LucyI don't want to mislead anyone who hasn't seen this film as to what it's like. It is a caustic and brutal film that assaults preconceptions of love and seduction in the most Brechtian and painful of ways. It's not a horror film by the strict definitions of genre, but at the…
Rembrandt Q PumpernickelApr 14, 2014A brutal exploration of sexuality in a patriarchal society. Sorry, but the ending is perfect. Feminist filmmaking at its finest.

You're always at once too ugly and too beautiful, too prudish and too sexual, too strange and too plain -- and always hating yourself for it. Love between the…

i cant decipher whether the ending is a supposed to denunciate the atrocities of the female condition, showing how women random and unexpected assault happens to women or if it’s used simply as for the shock value. which would be exploiting female pain for entertainment…
Long drawn out scenes that make this 1 1/2 hour film feel like 2. Enough child nudity to get me put on a watchlist. And a horribly unnecessary and grotesque ending. I’m sure someone would say it’s poignant and deep, but it isn’t. It’s cheap and exploitative. 3/10
