I don’t understand you, but I love you I’ll always be a sucker for Carl Sagan and space, but found myself surprisingly invested in its tender conversation of loneliness and expectation, especially from the perspective of a child. Might be familiar territory, especially…

6.4 - Cute and simple movie, but bottom tier for Pixar. I was excited for this when it was announced a couple years ago, but honestly almost completely forgot about it until it hit theaters. It’s been severely under-marketed & essentially going head to head against HTTYD is a brutal spot to be…
Good movie! Way better than the trash Pixar been crapping out lately. Super cute story but it wasn’t super different and the score was lacking, other than one particular part with dope beat. You’ll know when you hear it. Glordon made this movie

the colors, the animation, the settings, the story, 10/10 i LOVED it! i went with my summer camp group and they all had such a blast. but as a adult who didn’t have friends growing up and always felt like i was in my parents way (they had me really late lol) i relate to elio a little more than i…

Not a single idea from this movie, everything was taken from something else noticeably that being said it was still a good watch but it just felt like I was watching space lilo and stitch with watered down Luca animation, though this was still better than I expected 8/10

So bad. Hidden gay agenda. Careful taking your kids to this bad movie.

There is enough of a sense of awe here, and enough scale, that it brightens up the big screen as it stares into the ebony black of space. And if one child is instilled with a sense of cosmic wonder and channels that into a career probing the mysteries and poetry of the night sky, then Elio will have truly reached the stars.
As a story about children finding a place to belong, discovering their true sense of self and realizing that parents and parental figures love you even when they don’t always understand you, Elio is a lovely, if not particularly original story.
Schmaltzy yet sincere, “Elio,” the latest from Pixar, is as predictable as they come but as tender as they can get.
