David Lynch, holding up 3 identical head shots of Kyle MacLachlan: hmmmm...now..I wonder who will be playing the lead in my next movie....
andieOct 6, 2021Felt like I showed up two hours before the final exam for a class I never attended and tried to skim through the entire textbook. I failed the exam but at least the textbook had a bunch of cool pictures.

why villeneuve's version will be less good: -no partick stewart charging into battle with a puppy -no soundtrack by toto -no knife fight between sting and kyle maclachlan -no terrible yet delightfully charming special effects
amayaJul 8, 2017I'm just glad they still have pugs in the year 10191.

If it was the night before my marriage to David Lynch and I watched this movie, I would probably call the wedding off
Leo SmithMar 22, 2021you mean to tell me that Toto wrote the score for this film and didn't even think of including a remix of Africa with the chorus changed to "I bless the rains down in Arrakis"
liam fOct 24, 2021I just folded space from Ix and boy are my tumorous gills tired! The David Lunch version surpasses the Dennis Villanova version is these aspects: -Harkonnens are genuinely disgusting and terrifying pedophiles -The Stage 3 Guild Navigator -Jurgen Prochnow and the rest…

If the spice extends life, than this film shortens life. The visuals hold up mostly to today’s. The story is bizarre, slow, and hard to follow. If you skipped this one you wouldn’t be missing anything.

well…the cgi was so bad I laughed all the time; the pacing was so fast I couldn’t create any kind of empathy with the characters and I believe if I didn’t watch Villenueve’s Dune (I & II) first I wouldn’t even understand what’s going on; you tried David, you tried.

6.2 - It’s got a whole lotta bad but I enjoyed myself. I think I just love the Dune-iverse at this point. Lynch may have been ahead of his time - not having the resources needed to pull a story of this magnitude off properly. Effects are mixed for the era, score is perfect, most acting is wooden,…
6/10 This interpretation in all honesty fascinates me. While Lynch tried to tell the full story in a timely manner, the material was too much in the end. Some of the special Effects are laughable, especially with the shields and then other moments were ok. He did do well though 👍
6/10 Not a bad movie but nowhere near as good as the new adaptation. The film was way too short and put way too much in a small runtime. Everything was underdeveloped especially Chani. Kyle MacLachlan was great and David Lynch’s direction was easily the best aspect of the film
