Moviegoers are saying
This Dracula reimagining splits audiences down the middle, with viewers either embracing its romantic transformation of the classic vampire tale or rejecting it as a departure from horror tradition. While some mock its unconventional choices (comparing Dracula to Gru with 'rocky minions'), passionate fans praise the love story between leads Caleb and Zoë, calling it their new favorite despite wanting more screen time for Vlad and Mina.

Call it what it is: Luc Besson’s Francis Ford Coppola’s Bram Stoker’s Dracula, a copy of a copy.

Just a pale imitation of scarier bloodsuckers gone by.

The story of Bram Stoker’s Dracula is so well-known that it’s hard to find a new angle. That is, unless you’re Luc Besson and you go back to the book’s inspiration, and present Dracula as a lost soul in need of forgiveness and redemption. And, refreshingly, that’s exactly what you get in this film.
