Atom User Reviews for Dracula (1931) & Frankenstein (1931) Double Feature
Really good to see how simple and good we once were. No blood or overt violence, lovely women....Just a nice break from today.
No digital effects, blood, gore, just great acting, lighting and makeup effects. That’s why it’s still a hit after 90 years
If you don’t love this, you ain’t un-dead!
The movie was great, but the theater started it late, and rewound it on the screen as it had already started nationally. They didn't even rewind it to the beginning of the introduction! This was at AMC St. Charles Towne Center in Waldorf, MD.
This was my first time seeing the original movies of the Universal Monster Movies. Both movies are well done, and evident by how well they hold up. The reason my review gets 4 stars is that the venue we went to cut the second movie off in the middle of the climax, and turned on the lights. Someone from our viewing group had to go and fetch a theater worker to start it back up and cut the lights. This was after no intermission in a double feature. Even a 5 minute break would have been great for stretching.
Wonderful to see these fantastic movies on the big screen.
