In this supernatural horror film based on the novel of the same name by Lois Duncan, troubled and seemingly quite angry Kit Gordy (AnnaSophia Robb) is sent to the mysterious Blackwood Boarding School after she becomes too much for her mother to handle. She and the four other delinquent girls there soon find themselves wondering what’s lurking in the labyrinth of corridors. Soon they discover that their unsettling headmistress Madame Duret (Uma Thurman) may be hiding an age-old secret rooted in the paranormal.
