This movie has all of the worst Bond has to offer; bad jokes, dumb women, and a lame performance. Sean Connery was paid a then record $1.25 million dollars to return as Bond one last time, and this movie is tired in every sense. Connery, who seemed to be only in it for…
Ethan ColburnMar 21, 2015"My God! You just killed James Bond!" It's a miracle Diamonds are Forever didn't kill James Bond. It might not be as potentially offensive as some of the more racist Bonds, but it's almost offensive how poorly plotted, poorly characterized, and ultimately boring and…
ScreeningNotesDec 26, 2020Everyone notes that Connery only did this one for the huge paycheck and you can see it in his performance. Actually, a sour, disillusioned Bond is a totally valid choice for the character. The bigger issue is the plot is way more nonsensical than the other Connery films,…

This entry is stupid from top to bottom. It’s positively ridiculous but there is still quite a bit of fun to be had. I had to deduct points for how terribly this film has aged. I mean you literally see a Vegas illusionist TRANSFORM A BLACK WOMAN INTO A…
Sam ThompsonOct 19, 2022Fails miserably as an exciting spy thriller but as a breezy, sleazy, camp comedy it excels for me with some of the wittiest dialogue in the series and great performances from Connery, Gray and St John. This might well be one of my most favourite Barry soundtracks too. It…

I love that Willard Whyte has an Epcot dome in the Nevada desert where he tests out moon rovers on the set of Kubrick’s moon landing lmao. Was never a favorite of mine but I’ve come around on Diamonds are Forever in recent years, definitely a perfected formula at this point…
Ian WestSep 12, 2021Fuera de Serie: Bond, James Bond - The International Spy, The Icon & The Once Serial Women Beater Back then, most people's complaints were about the campy tone of the movie - granted, it's a stark contrast to the previous dark and violent installment - but this criticism…

I've just seen most of these movies and they feel a bit repetitive after awhile. i think these might have the cutest girls if you care.
Humorous and intriguing. Brilliant action, a brilliant car chase and a plot that is slightly more interesting than the typical Bond film, detective Bond! The oil rig ending is a little lacklustre but overall a fun watch. Rating H- 8/10 L- 7/10

It was nice to see Sean Connery back in the role of James Bond. But I thought this film in the series was a bit silly at times and way over the top. I still had a lot of fun with it but it isn’t the best Bond film, overall 4/10.
Delightfully bonkers. Connery looking like he’s having tons of fun! Enjoyable if you try and avoid any comparison with the first 4 films, and enjoy the (Moon Buggy?) ride

Ridiculousness as only Bond can deliver. Kidd and Wint are dorks. PG rating with a nipple era. Connery is charming as usual.
Awesome and classic, the relationship between bond and blofeld, the over the top high stakes and the action is perfect

We see different movies for different reasons, and Diamonds Are Forever is great at doing the things we see a James Bond movie for.
Connery has a ball with great stunts, snappy dialogue and a bevy of typically Bondish beauties.
Diamonds Are Forever is great, absurd fun, not only because it recalls the moods and manners of the sixties (which, being over, now seem safely comprehensible), but also because all of the people connected with the movie obviously know what they are up to.
