How considerate of Hitchcock, giving an intermission to a 1:45 long movie.

That trifecta of direction, acting and script in Hitchcock's film is nigh perfect, much like the murder it portays. This film holds a weird kind of suspense. It's not the edge of your seat stuff or the oppressive terror of psychological thrillers. It is the suspense of…

I just love old movie and of course films made by the master of suspense Alfred Hitchcock. This is a premise I have never seen in a film before. It’s like a murder mystery but still not. Also try to look after Hitchcocks cameo wish is pretty unique from all his other ones.

Delightfully complex and well thought out. RM and JW have stand out performances. Can you blame him?

This was my first Hitchcock movie and honestly, for a director called “the Master of Suspense”, this movie felt lacking in suspense. Where it could’ve a psychological study of the mind of a murderer, or a whodunnit?, it was more just watching a man trying to cover up his tracks.

Very solid Hitchcock flick. My enjoyment levels are biased against stories revolving around infidelity, so that holds it back, but the story is interesting as a whole, and the tension is as expertly executed as you'd expect from the Master. Grace Kelly is always a major plus.

at least when women try and kill their husbands, they have more of a reason than “i’m a washed up old tennis player, and i don’t know why she cheated on me with someone that actually respects her” 8/10

My first watch of the new year, and a fantastic one! Hitchcock never fails at building suspense and always keeps you invested in the story.

The screenplay tends to constrain rather than liberate Hitchcock's thematic thrust, but there is much of technical value in his geometric survey of the scene and the elaborate strategies employed to transfer audience sympathy among the four main characters.
