Uses a brilliant cinematic technique where every time someone is about to die it plays the coolest music in the world so every murder scene turns into a dance party
Patrick WillemsJan 26, 2013If I had to explain the appeal of giallo to a space alien, I would show them the sequence in which David Hemmings madly scrapes away the plaster on a wall in a decrepit old mansion to reveal a child's drawing of an absurd, violent crime while Goblin's mismatched prog-rock…

I’m confused amazed and dissatisfied at the same time. It’s got a phenomenal soundtrack though some scenes don’t fit it at all the acting can range from mid to incredible the kills are decent and inventive the ending felt abrupt and rushed but it’s still a horror classic 9.1/10
Director Dario Argento provokes excruciating suspense but gets carried away with bloody flourishes. As ever, Hemmings is awfully convincing.

fantastically stylish and intriguing giallo film although it can be slow at parts, it rewards your patience with great kills, an entertaining mystery and refreshing stylistic choices i adored the use of music and camera work to capture emotion
I must be in the twilight zone. This is one of the ten worst films Ive ever seen. None of it made a lick of sense, the acting was bad, and...yeah, I dont get it.

I was really confused about the film, but until now I knew from almost the end. honestly, it's fabulous, even the kills were realistic
Really enjoyed the coloring of the film and the use of the score. Also had some great death scenes. Completely nuts.

For all its nonsensical qualities, it also contains some of Argento's most hallucinatory images and unforgettable setpieces, as always reason enough to watch even when the usual reasons are nowhere to be found.
Undoubtedly the finest of Argento's thrilling horrors, this one takes the radical step, for the director at least, to concentrate on a plot that equals the shocking visuals of his other works. David Hemmings is well cast and is given a great script which genuinely frights.
