top 5 rhymes in LL Cool J's immortal plot song: "DEEPEST, BLUEST (SHARK'S FIN)" 5.) My world's deep blue Killers gotta eat too Looking for human flesh to rip my teeth through Other fish in the sea but Barracudas ain't equal To a half-human predator created by a…
davidehrlichJun 19, 2015Little known fact: this was the motion picture that finally spurred the Hollywood Foreign Press Association to create the Golden Globe Award for Best Use of Stellan Skarsgård as an Underwater Projectile. It was also, unsurprisingly, the award's first winner.

sharks below, fire above. this is cinema.
dirtylaundriJun 2, 201975 Gleefully yet seriously stupid. It cares about every moment of its absurdity. Deep Blue Sea offers a great underwater facility setting, a productive use of space and camera movement in conjunction with incredible animatronics and hilarious CGI, and strong stock…

TimcopAug 6, 2013Deep Blue Sea is a mess, but a deeply entertaining one (if you pardon my stupid pun) Because it's a mess and because I'm lazy and tired, I'll just provide some thoughts and notes, instead of a proper review: * First of all, Saffron Burrows. She's pretty and all…

As a kid I loved this movie as I’ve grown up I’ve realized while the nostalgia will remain in my mind and it being one of the few shark movies to pull off a decent plot with a great cast, it just doesn’t give that same wow factor it use to. I will watch it every now and then.
After seeing the 5.9 rating on IMDb, I was expecting pure garbage, but it’s not as bad as I thought. It had Samuel L. Jackson and Thomas Jane; two actors that I really like. The CGI looked decent at times, but terrible at other times. Samuel’s death took me by complete surprise.

i don’t know why but i loved this as a kid? rewatched it a month ago though and I felt indifferent which was kind of sad :( the action wasn’t as exciting i guess at 19 compared to 6 (and no I have no idea why I was watching this back then!)
Only about half way through but the stupidity from the characters hurts it is painful with the amount of reaction time these people need - would recommend if needing a rage release or something to yell at :)

This movie did the same amount if damage jaws did to me as a kid. Sharks are my biggest fear and i love watching good shark horror movies to give me goosebumps. iconic scenes and one liners.
Fun, but stupid fun. Then main core of the film is actually not horrible, but the awful digital effects hamper the film’s better attempts at quality. Turn your brain off and just chill.

Even overlooking the fundamental inanity of the movie, one is left to contend with some offensive racial stereotyping.
Not everything in the film happens according to the traditional, overly familiar blueprint.
Powered by exceptional displays of physical filmmaking, Deep Blue Sea is pulled back to shore by the usual suspects -- weak plotting and weaker dialogue.
