Atom User Reviews for Death on the Nile
Don’t waste your money on this flick … I’m sure Agatha Christie is turning over in her grave at how they’ve bastardized her story - go buy/rent the original movie version; it’s a better value for your dollar.
First half was hella slow. The ending was kinda predictable, but ended up being interesting as you watch it unfold.
The last 30 mins were entertaining
Gal Gadot = 😌
Great cast does Agatha Christie justice! Expert directing by Brannagh. Highly recommend!
Gal Gadot is truly a Wonder Woman, she will make even the most loyal of men leave their significant other
I loved it
totally unbelievable, time/place/history= nothing matched. attempts to be too woke distracted from the film, the we scenes were amazing and everything went down hill from there.
Enjoyed the backstory to Poirot's mustache.
boring
Horrible
I’d give it 0 if I could.
movie was predictable but not horrible
Boring and super slow and nothing to see. Worse than house of gucci
Very visually pleasing
The movie had a great start and a great plot. Just wish they wouldn’t have rushed the ending.
Great film. I hope the director continues to make films using Agatha Christie books
Great movie! Must see, perfect ending.
Great movie but please leave your kids at home 👍🏼
It was good but kinda predictable
Plot wasn't hard to figure out. Movie was good not great.
I enjoyed the cast but it wad a bit predictable
I don’t know if half of the movie was English. Sorry.
a little slow but alright
All around a solid entertaining film.
The killer was obvious
First of all, I don't think anyone needed an origin story for Poirot's mustache. The explanation makes very little sense, and adds nothing to the movie. Personally I felt the movie started very slowly and the first third was a little boring. The plot was very Poirot, hinting at clues throughout and having twists at the end. Some of the CGI also felt a bit unpolished. The movie was adequately enjoyable but not a must-watch.
Cinematically beautiful! We just figured it out 5 minutes in… still loved it though
Fun but predictable
Beautifully shot scenes whenever they are at beautiful locations … though it wasn’t the movie I thought it’d be. It was a one time watch for me.
I liked it. I’m not sure which one I liked better: This one or Murder on The Orient Express…it was great seeing T. Bateman again. If you enjoyed MTOE then you will surely like this one as well. Both great rainy day movies that you can watch more than once.
Really good movie
Everything about the movie was so good
A little slow in the beginning, a little predictable but overall good movie.
The effects aren't the best, but I liked the rest of it a lot
Kept us guessing until the end. Great movie. Highly recommend.
Great cast, good story to keep the suspense going throughout the film, deliberately paced to absorb you into the story. Go Se it in IMAX!
really well done!
Better than the 1st movie ! But anybody can guess who was the murderer from the beginning unlike the first movie. But it was still great to meet the cast of this one.
The cinematography was worth seeing it at the theater.
started kinda slow then grabbed you by the throat and didn't let go until the end. Awesome movie.
Better than I thought it might be. But it was fun. And beautiful to look at. As corny as an Agatha Christie movie should be.
loved it will see again
While it’s extremely slow paced in the first act, it does make up for it in the acts that follow. The quality of the costumes and the set design is very good. The writing is pretty good, too. All in all, it’s not a bad film. But it could have been executed at a little quicker pace.
Sus
loved it
very sexy movie, you knew at the beginning who the killer was but they did a very good job masking it in the end
Fun movie!
Agatha Christie omg 😱 loved it
Keeps you engaged! Great second movie after Murder on the Orient Express. Love the cast
Metacritic
Flashy enough for pantomime but lacking the sense of fun, the rest of the film follows Branagh’s journey into dull excess, with Christie’s cracking whodunnit deafened by the camerawork and deadened by lazy writing.
I liked Death on the Nile a fair bit more than Branagh’s previous Christie film, partly because it’s a less predictable and schematic narrative to begin with, and partly because Branagh the actor has a way of outfoxing his own pedestrian direction.
As it is, this “Death on the Nile,” for too long an affected and strained entertainment lacking any sense of place, floats well downstream from more bracingly constructed whodunits.
