While the film adaptation has some differences from the Broadway production, watching this movie gives the audience an incredible experience. Fans of the original production will love this refreshing version of the story, and newcomers will be moved by the improant messages it contains. Each of the performances are so genuine, and they elicit a visceral response for the viewers. I miss some songs from the stage version, but the expansion of Alana's character & addition of Connor's song make up for it. That are many talented actors who have portrayed Evan on stage, but Ben Platt has a special gift. Please don't let Platt's age deter you from watching this film; his perormances are unmatched. Once the movie begins, the viewer can forget that Platt was 26 thanks to the live singing and his mannerisms. I am so glad that this film has immortalized the story for everyone to watch for years to come. And to those out there who need to hear it: we are not alone.

Although it doesn’t compare to the live Broadway musical, I really enjoyed the movie. Dear Evan Hansen is one of my favorite musicals, and the movie did it justice in my opinion. I was crying nonstop, all the singing was LIVE (which you rarely see in a musical film adaptation,) and the work truly spoke for itself (especially with Ben Platt.) Highlights include Requiem; You Will Be Found; Words Fail; So Big, So Small (Julianne Moore is beautiful); and the new ending. I highly recommend watching it. It was not perfect by any means, but nothing is perfect in life. If everything was perfect, life wouldn’t be interesting or fun; Dear Evan Hansen was more than that.

This was adaptation of an incredible Broadway show. The two new songs were lovely, especially Connor's (Colton Ryan). Anyone previously saying Ben Platt shouldn't have reprised his role, were wrong, he was just as amazing as he was on stage.

Didn’t disappoint and it’s my favorite show for a reason. The original broadway production lowkey saved my life and I’ve waited for this movie for so so long. Can’t wait to see it again and again and buy it the day it comes out.

Okay Not great B- and that’s being nice

Great movie. I think a lot of critics are viewing it as a Broadway play and not a movie. It’s a solid A-, the songs were great, some missing ones and some added. Overall an impactful experience. Criticism would be more music related than to the acting.
