It's a good movie to watch if history is interesting to you. The cast did a wonderful job portraying the characters.
a rare opportunity to see a movie that you have to use your brain. the millennials will hate it
A little long, dragged a bit. Huge Churchill fan but it wasn’t the best representation of him. Still an enjoyable movie.
Very well done. Must see.
Might be more for history buffs but well done!
I was probably the only young person in the room, but I enjoyed every second of this movie. Recommend.
Winston Churchill was one of the greatest lider in history, and Gary oldman . Oscar contenders
It was good but I was expecting to see Churchill's role in the D-day preparations. At some point the movie should have moved forward by 4 years. D-day was Churchill's greatest moment and unfortunately the movie didn't show it.
not a lot 9f action but very interesting.
incredible acting!!!
Great "rest of the story" to Dunkirk!
Good movie! A great one to watch right before watching Dunkirk.
A piece of history that I didn’t know about.
It was a great lead up to the Dunkirk movie.
Good Movie for the History Buffs.
Gary Oldman gave the performance of his life!
An amazing look into the strength of Churchill.
Metacritic
Darkest Hour spends so much time as an actor’s showcase for Oldman that it oftentimes forgets to remind the audience of the ongoing war around him. However, despite the film’s occasionally languid pace, Wright imbues enough urgency through Oldman to maintain an undercurrent of tension throughout the film’s two-hour runtime.
From its grab-for-all-the-gusto Gary Oldman performance to its direction by Joe Wright, Darkest Hour is nothing if not an energetic, showy piece of work, but some types of showy have more staying power than others.
The year’s most shocking transformation arrives in the form of Gary Oldman’s Winston Churchill, a creation for the ages.
