Synopsis

Seven Woodson likedDaniel Isn't Realid give it a 7/10, the direction it went was good and it feels like sensory overload which is what Luke is feeling , but points were docked because of the scene right before the end. I think that the end scene could be cut and the ending could be earlier with less overexplanation

Just couldn’t quite get on board with this. It seemed confused as to what it wanted to be. There was an ok plot but it just felt like a mess, poorly executed. Schwarzenneger was decent, Robbins was good until the last act, he just wasn’t convincing at the end, in my opinion.

I don’t know what message they were trying to convey and him having to kill himself in order to defeat it, I don’t necessarily like the message that sends. I feel like it played far too much trying to make it seem as if this was all in his head.
nic likedDaniel Isn't Realit was surprisingly good. I thought that it would be one of those movies where it would be really bad or cringy but has some tiktok edit of them. honestly, the beginning was slow but once the action kicks in, it's pretty good. CGI is a bit wack but it has a good concept.

I actually was diggin this almost literally right up until the sword fight on the roof .. some creepy visuals and the beginning 30 min are kinda atmospheric, the acting is good throughout but it wasn’t ever really legit scary or truly unsettling at any points

DL Cooper likedDaniel Isn't RealPuts possession by a vengeful spirit up next to unmanaged psychosis and asks “what’s the difference?” Arnold’s kid was especially solid for his part. Worth a watch at min for some of the cool body horror bits and design elements.

It’s full of plot holes but compulsively watchable for the first hour, before the whole thing falls to pieces as Mortimer chucks in a load of well-worn horror-movie tropes.

The best thing I can say about Daniel Isn’t Real is that it’s a promising early feature made by young artists who haven’t yet worked out how to express and/or synthesize what they like about their favorite artists and their work. It’s all style and very little substance.
