"I was once full, but what was inside me is outside now,” A former psychology student obsessed with mesmerism, turned amnesiac gets a series of totally normal and sane people to commit murder simply by confounding them by not answering their questions, talking in circles,…
Will MenakerAug 24, 2015A work almost too disquieting: Procedural pushed to obsession pushed to psychosis. Starts as a seeming vision of 90's Tokyo as a city of corpses and interrogation rooms, but even as it does work on sociological levels, (similar to Pulse, Kurosawa uses genre trappings to…

Cure is the manifestation of malaise, it's being in the same room with a serial killer, where each sound made is distinctly registered and every tiny action raises an alarm. Cure is pure evil, it makes us jump at the most insignificant details, the flick of a lighter, the…
YI JIANNov 14, 2022MESMERISM AND THE END OF THE ENLIGHTENMENT IN FRANCE This one little stray title on a textbook lying discarded in Mamiya's room was what tied it all together for me. The Enlightenment was a 17th and 18th century philosophical movement that sought to understand the world…

The perfect mix of thriller and horror, with brilliant writing, great acting, and stunning cinematography and lighting. What's so unique and brilliant about this murder mystery is, that it's not about who did it, but rather how? 9/10
I’m sure if i saw it 1997 I’d lose my mind … but it was just alright .. don’t listen to the hype unless you want to break down every minute detail
🫎🫎🫎🫎1/2 Although this film sometimes feels slow, it’s still absolutely magnificent and the pacing seems to be its only flaws. I remember when me and the boys watched this at my house when my parents were gone so we got to blast it in the living room. Such an interesting story that looked…

Japanese filmmakers know how to build tension well and don't hold back on showing violence and great acting. This one in particular didn't have a huge impact because I've seen plenty of other films within the psychological genre but could still be one of the best in that genre.
a mesmerizing film, no pun intended. perfect from start to finish, and effortlessly so; entirely channels the confidence and unsettling nature of its immensely talented lead. ambiguity done right with fantastic writing, acting, pacing, and cinematography; massively impressive

story was laid out and paced perfectly, camera work and cinematography were beautiful, acting was on point not nearly as scary or atmospheric as ppl say tho but some good horror themes going on, asks questions that stick w you after the movie, solid stuff, I get it
Apparently movie hardos love it, I’m sure it’s real good, bad time for me to try and watch at midnight. Open ended conclusion, sound, visuals, optics and acting was good. Well made movie
