I went to go see this movie because I was dealing with depression and thought a movie like this would help. I just left the theater and I still have depression but it was charming.

It’s watchable and even occasionally amusing.
Clifford the Big Red Dog is a sweet if shallow kids offering that sometimes soars higher than expected.
For older viewers, though, it may be hard to ignore some of the clunkier moments of a script that, in trying to update a story created in 1963, gets in its own way with dialogue that while sometimes funny and sweet, can be awkward and occasionally even off-key.
