You're telling me the very best place for the President of the United States to hide was under the Oval Office desk? This felt very hollow.

james💫Mar 28, 2024i feel like all of Alex Garland's films could be called Annihilation. he comes threateningly close to saying something — anything — about the various ways that Americans process and/or distance ourselves from the violent realities that seem "foreign" to us, but it never…

spent the whole movie excited to see jesse plemons and then wanted that scene to be over as soon as possible
KarstenApr 11, 2024real hero was cailee spaeny for managing to do all of that in skinny jeans (full review)
cerysApr 11, 2024It's very funny to so obviously think you are making Come and See or Apocalypse Now for a post-January 6th America and instead end up with JCPenney Has Fallen. Garland might have even had something here if he could've dropped the solemn, sanctimonious centrist anti-war…

Somehow this managed to have less political depth than the Captain America Civil War
ConnorEatsPantsApr 2, 2024could and would (and did, apologies to a beautiful musician) talk for ages about the choices to have kirsten dunst and especially cailee spaeny (phenomenal!) do photography the way they do, which completely unlocked the movie for me. could/would/did also talk about how…
demi adejuyigbeApr 8, 2024I’m very conflicted on this movie because it’s well made with some great moments but I fear that this is the kind of movie that falls apart in your hand the longer you hold onto it But holy moly Jesse Plemons

My girl Jessie was really in for a wild ride, mostly because of her own damn actions…
9.2 - hell yeah. Expectations blown away. It’s ripping pace, incredible sound design, & tight camera work create incredible tension start to finish. It’s well acted across the entire cast, & I really enjoyed the unique POV even though I disagree it doesn’t take a stand or a side.

I liked it (I think anyway) but its very disturbing and I cant imagine ever rewatching it really. I had thought it would be more into the political aspects but it’s more a look at the horrors/depravity of humanity that happen around the world with civil war/unrest.
The premise of this movie was good but honestly I felt it was a mess. Worth a watch if you got nothing else
basically the spiderman lady is a chad journalist, a hero to the youngster girl. after meeting the youngster though, spiderman lady starts losing her power, and the youngster eventually replaces spiderman lady. it illustrates the changing of eras, how nature abhors a vacuum, etc

Although it has a great start, and it has its peak moment, but throughtout the film I was really bored until the final act. Then I started enjoying it, but, all of a sudden, disappointment after disappointment. I’ve wanted so badly to be a good film, but it wasn’t as expected.
Incredible. The photography and cinematography was purely incredible. The plot was slow but extremely raw. A lot of people want more backstory, but we weren't asked to choose a side. We were asked to be witnesses, like the journalists. If you want a backstory, then switch on your tv. A million and…
what a purely powerful movie. truly shows what’s going on behind the things you see in the media, and how damaging war is to everyone. the cinematography is simply beautiful, so well thought out. the movie is supposed to be stark, nothing is glorified in war, chaos and suffering.

This tells us what will happen if Trump wins or looses the election
ANafterdarc networkMovie wasn't what I expected. No explanation on why there is a Civil War. Don't know who is who. Movie was about a group of photographers, more than anything. It had a non-realistic story line except for the ending, when the main character / photographer gets screwed over.…
CSCasey SmithNeed to see it in a theater to get the full immersion. Will definitely make you hope we as a nation never descend into that.

Good idea, bad execution. Minimal character development and was underwhelming compared to what the trailer portrayed it to be

MWMatt WedenIt was a great movie….it makes you think. The director did a great job. You should check out some of his other work.
