Civil War left me with questions, the main one being, why? What started the war. it felt more like a video game than a well thought out movie that showed us that the line between order and choas is very thin and can break at any time. There was lots of action and gore, but nothing to really engage your mind.

a wakeup call

It isn’t what those people will think it is. It’s something better, more timely, and more thrilling — a thoroughly engaging war drama that’s more about people than about politics.

While bound to spark hundreds of think pieces, Alex Garland’s stirring Civil War will undoubtedly go down, too, as one of the most provocative films of the year. It’s also an early contender for one of the best, offering a stunning warning: no matter what the cause, war is hell.
