This was the first Chucky movie I watched which was very confusing to me. I don't know why I watched this one first that’s very unusual of me as I normally try to watch movie franchises in order. So, word of advice; if you want to understand everything, watch the movies in order.
Really great sequel to the 1st movie. The kid actor did exceptional and the surrounding cast just as good. I don’t remember as much about this as i do the 1st (or rest of the movies) because it was so similar. But from what i do remember, they didn’t step out the box and do anything super creative,…

I actually enjoyed Child’s Play 2 more than the original. That’s not to say it’s a perfect sequel — Like the first child play it takes a long time to build the plot—not nearly as much but enough that you begin to feel like the plot development has overstayed its welcome. That said, the new…
A solid sequel that unleashes an unhinged Chucky, but isn’t very funny or satisfying on a Horror level.
This film is my all time favorite of the Chucky movies. Introducing Kyle and Andy having to move to a new home and the weight that’s put on Andy as he’s still growing up. Chuckys death in this one has been so memorable for me and one of my all time favorites. I highly recommend!!

So you’re telling me the cops didn’t confess about Chucky & had Andy’s mom sent to a psychiatric ward??? What the hell happened to our witnesses & why didn’t they speak up about a deadly doll killer who is obviously going to come attack again?? They just ruined a family. STUPID.
Most horror movies struggle with a sequel. Either it is too repetitive or the killer is different. But Child's Play 2 is different. It has the key elements of the previous movie, and has a smooth transition into this one. The story is also altered changing Chucky in a good way.
Honestly a perfect sequel. It’s weird, for some reason I’ve always considered this to be the definitive og childs play movie even though I also like the actual movie, it’s just the setting and execution of this one is too perfect for me to not love it even more than the first.

Metacritic
Child's Play 2 is an inevitable sequel that's not as good as its progenitor, but better than most movies with the numbers 2 through 8 in their titles. Thin plot-wise, it caters to an audience apparently amused on the first go-round by the antics of a foul-mouthed doll named Chucky.
It's an all-out horror film--handsomely produced but morbid and not in the least amusing to watch.
