An embarrassment. I'm 100% in favor of a female-driven action film, especially one fronted by Kristen Stewart as an openly queer superspy with a violent streak, but this is shamefully tepid performative corporate girl power lip service with a generic -- not to mention…

This new entry into the Charlie's Angels franchise tries to tie into the previous iterations while remaining fresh. The new take on the Townsend organization provides for a lot of interesting prospects. The actresses all perform exceptionally and jump into the action…

Great actors and a pretty good story line. I just felt like it didn’t live up to the expectations of a Charlie’s angels movie 🤷‍♂️

The picture comes armed to the teeth with slick action sequences . . . and genuinely funny lines. It’s just a pity that both the action and the dialogue are occasionally obscured by the frenzied editing.

But damn, this thing is pretty much joyless — no fun at all. Reports of Stewart’s gifts as a budding comedienne have been wildly-exaggerated, the one-liners don’t land and the story’s a non-starter and a bit of a downer, to boot.
