Moviegoers are saying
This supernatural tale splits audiences between nostalgic childhood memories and adult discomfort, with reviewers noting an unexpectedly 'horny' ghost protagonist whose famous 'Can I keep you?' line hits differently as an adult. The film's final act delivers genuine emotional devastation that rivals Titanic's ending, though many find the romantic undertones surprisingly creepy.

  • "Can I keep you?" When you're a kid, that's the most adorable/cutest/sweetest thing you've ever heard. When you grow up, that's the creepiest/scariest thing you've ever heard. As a pickup line, it just might work.

“There’s a girl...on my bed! Yes!” I guess I just wasn’t prepared for Casper to be quite so...horny?

Wasn't my favorite but definitely one of the weirdest cases I've seen from Ed and Lorraine Warren.

The house set this movie was shot in is the same set for the music video for ‘Everybody’ by the Backstreet Boys. That’s all I have to say.

Great movie. And honestly, I still can’t decide what was more inappropriate: my crush on Bill Pullman or my crush on Casper.

Fun and interesting. Dives into Casper’s backstory, but is a tad outdated.

Like The Flintstones and The Addams Family, Casper is an attempt to bring cartoons to life while incorporating them with real actors and sets. As a technical achievement, it's impressive, and entertaining.

Casper is not the kind of smartly written movie that works on children's and adult levels at once. But with its lively pace, smashing visual tricks and one of the cutest heroes on screen, it is an engaging fantasy for very small children.

A better- than-average children's film, dolled up with some high-priced art direction and extraordinary special effects.
