This movie is like doing dangerous drugs in a place you’ve never been to with people you don’t trust, but they have great taste in music.

Apocalypse NOW. Unsettling ultra shock loaded with disturbing images, gratuitous violence, despicable acts, lush cinematography, and tons of commentary on the duality of man (amongst other things). First time I watched this was in the mid 90’s via bootleg vhs and even…
Ian WestDec 31, 2020Cannibal Holocaust is quite possibly the best film ever made. Cannibal Holocaust should not exist. It isn't just the historical and material conditions that allowed for and led up to Cannibal Holocaust which should not and should have never existed, it is the actual film…

This movie is not meant for people who get uncomfortable with nudity, rape, and graphic murder scenes. I have a better understanding as to why certain cultures isolate themselves from the world, I’d wanna stay far away from civilization as possible too after watching this film.
After reading reviews of this movie I knew what I was getting into in regards to the graphic content and warning of real animal deaths, but I chose to watch anyways. The movie itself was horrible and made me physically sick to watch. In all I don’t recommend watching the movie.
The OG of found footage, the practical FX are great especially given the medium. Unfortunately, the animal violence onscreen is real, so that is sure to put off a majority of audiences. That aside, it really is amazing this movie ever got made and as successfully as it did.

"this so called documentary footage is offensive, dishonest and above all inhuman".
A truly disturbing film... the film is, to put it bluntly, one of the most intentionally distasteful and violent experiences one could ever watch. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, even though I knew what I was getting into, it's really too much even though it's well-made.
What a perturbing and disruptive film, it was nice to see a protest of mondo filmmaking in such a horrendous film, as well as a discussion of male hyper-sexuality in a primitive setting, yet a lot of the ends of these graphic lessons lead to disturbing images of female brutality in the sense of…

Not exactly a film I’d recommend, but I find it funny that UVA students have free access to this. Been holding off on watching this a long time because of violence, rape, and animal abuse in this film. One of the most notorious horror films for a reason. Had to skip turtle part.
Meh as a film. The concept was interesting but the core 4 are terrible actors. That actually helped me not care about the violence against them though since the characters were horrible too. (They are meant to be). I didn’t realize the level of sexual assault. That was rough.
